BARKLEY COMMUNITY FOREST CORPORATIONCONTRACT ACCOUNTANT/BOOKKEEPER The Barkley Community Forest Corporation (BCFC), a partnership between the Toquaht Nation and the District of Ucluelet, is seeking an Accountant, preferably with forestry experience, to work on a contractual basis for the company. The hours of work vary from 10 to 20 hours per month, based on activity. The successful candidate must be registered with the Workers Compensation Board; they will work from their own premises or can operate from the BCFC Office at 1971 Peninsula Road. Reporting to the BCFC Board The Contract Accountant is responsible for: Processing invoices; receiving sales revenue; Reconciling bank accounts; Recording and reporting transactions by project; Producing periodic reports and budgets for the corporation; Submitting monthly GST returns and other CRA reporting data; Submitting annual year-end reports and transaction data to the Auditor; The successful candidate should possess and be competent with Sage or other recognized accounting software; and be able to generate reports in an accurate and timely manner.
