City of Port AlberniEMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Custodial Guard (RCMP) - Casual The City of Port Alberni is accepting applications for Custodial Guards to work on a casual basis at various times on weekends, days and evenings at the RCMP Detachment. There are no assigned hours for this position. This position involves responsibility for guarding prisoners in the detention area of the RCMP Detachment. This includes monitoring prisoners, accurately maintaining and documenting records and performing janitorial functions within the cell block area. Successful candidates must be able to exercise physical strength and agility as circumstances warrant, have an ability to maintain alertness and exercise tolerance, understanding and social awareness as required. &nbsp Applicants must have the following qualifications: Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, plus recent related police custodial and security experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Current WSCB OFA Level 1 First Aid certification (or equivalent) Current CPR C certification Demonstrated ability working in various computer applications and data processing equipment&nbsp Ability to obtain and maintain RCMP reliability security clearance Shortlisted applicants will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment fitness test. Rate of pay is per the CUPE Local 118 Collective Agreement.
