I am a stay-at-home dad supporting my young children while my wife works a professional job. The hours she works makes it hard for me to find a steady job and be sufficiently available to look after the kids when needed. Our 2.5 year old lab retriever has greatly benefited from this state of affairs. Monday to Friday as soon as the kids get dropped off at school we go and jog/hike the inlet trail for approximately 1.5 hours which I think works out to be just short of 10 km. I included my running app data so you can see our route. The distance seems mostly right though the time seems to only reflect time jogging and not walking. It is part of our daily routine and it occurred to me recently that I could offer this as a service to anyone with an able body dog with too much energy to burn. The elevation gain noted on the strava app is no joke. We actually climb the mountain twice from different sides each day. I would be willing to pick up and drop off dogs provided they are relatively close to the Maquinna Elementary area. My service would be on a casual basis. Your dog could come along 5 days a week or just one. I will be heading towards the trailhead regardless. I think the pictures included show my lab has led a spoiled life in terms of nature appreciation and I am ready for other dogs to share in this experience. Interested parties feel free email me any questions. Thx. Jonathan
