Job Posting Internal/External Permanent Position PEACE Program Worker (Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling, Empowerment) (for children who have witnessed abuse) Purpose: To deliver the PEACE program to children age 3-18 Site: Main office of ACAWS Hours: Full Time – Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with a one hour lunch period Skills: Ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with a variety of staff from educational and legal authorities, and other members of the community To provide psycho-educational counselling to children and youth who have witnessed abuse Ability to recognize when help is needed and seek it out. Able to work independently under supervision. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking Effective computer skills and desire to stay current. Knowledge of the First Nations in the Alberni Valley & surrounding area Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently and as a team member Ability to problem solve and effectively manage time Ability to deliver a set program paced to each individual child served Education: Minimum Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care or equivalent and completion, along with other relevant courses and workshops At least three years’ work experience in the field.
