Creative Salmon Salmon Enhancement Liaison Creative Salmon is Canada's first certified organic farm salmon producer, operating in Tla-o-qui-aht traditional territory, Tofino B.C. In this role, you will report to the Creative Salmon General Manager while working on existing as well as new salmon enhancement projects within Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation. Among others, these projects include Hatchery in a Box, enhancement hatcheries and field work (brood takes, adult holding, egg collection, fertilization, incubation, rearing, ponding), captive brood stock, early net pen rearing, kelp and shellfish farming, plus assisting with Creative's own biology and hatchery departments' work. Required skills: Degree/diploma in aquaculture or a related field and 3 years' experience in an aquaculture or enhancement facility&nbspor an equivalent combination of education and experience Strong organizational, writing, computer, public speaking, and analytical skills Experience training and mentoring others Valid B.C. driver's license Assets to the role: Experience working with First Nations, awareness of First Nations issues and traditional ecological knowledge Professional designation (e.g. RPBio) Experience with project management Familiarity with the Clayoquot Sound region Certifications such a First Aid, boat operator This position offers a generous salary commensurate with experience, company-paid benefits after 90-day wait period, RRSP matching plus after 12 months.
