Used.ca connections run deep with local photo booth company

When you love what you do for a living, is it really work?

It’s a question Lindsay Rehner’s clients must ponder often after hosting Four Frames Photo Booth for their events or special occasions.

Following their launch in Tofino more than seven years ago, Rehner and partner Derek Cruikshanks are now based in Victoria, but take their portable photo booths to events throughout Vancouver Island – bringing plenty of laughs along the way.

“People can be shy, but we say, ‘Just let your sillies out. We’re even happy to jump in there with you, if you want! It’s just a lot of fun.’” Rehner says. “People walk away and they feel great – we get hugs!”

Working with clients, the Four Frames team will come up with a theme that allows guests to dress up, be silly or serious, and put themselves in the picture – literally.

(Carnival time or bathtub filled with balloons, anyone?)

“The photos are an awesome little takeaway for guests,” Rehner says. “And for us, it’s wonderful to have a part in so many celebrations and events. What really stands out for me is the interaction we have with people. Our goal with every event is to create a memorable experience that lasts long after the last photo is snapped.”

Keeping it fresh in photo land

With photo booths popular at so many events today, Rehner is always on the lookout for fresh ideas, and the vehicles to help them meet the demand.

Something nostalgic, reminiscent of childhood camping adventures on the Island was just the ticket.

“We were on the hunt from Sooke to Sidney for quite awhile for an old-school trailer we could use as a new ‘retro’ photo booth, and we finally found the perfect one on Used.ca,” Rehner says. “It caught my eye right away because of the quality.”

While the trailer was already in great shape, a little extra finishing was needed to make it photo-booth ready, and for that Rehner and Cruikshanks turned to another Used.ca “find,” a retired craftsman who was looking for a little part-time work.

“Used.ca is the perfect place for us to find so many of the people and products we need as Four Frames continues to grow,” Rehner says.

“It’s more than a photo; it’s about creating an experience for people.”
