Sexual Assault Response Coordinator 1 Full-time

Purpose The Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARP) will be responsible for creating lasting relationships with key community members to develop a cohesive and timely response model for survivors of sexual assault. Liaising with members of the community, the SARP Coordinator will provide education about how to respond to sexual assault, advocate for survivors, train and oversee volunteers and engage members of the community to create wrap around services for survivors. Start Date: Immediate Responsibilities: Develops, plans, and implements key community events and discussions Recruits, trains, and supports volunteers to provide support to survivors Develops a volunteer base that can respond in-community to survivors of sexual assault Travels to outlying communities to develop solutions for rural communities Develops and implements key training modules based on local services Interviews past survivors of sexual assault to determine gaps in services Works with survivors of abuse to provide connection to services Engages multiple community members (individuals, businesses, non-profits, indigenous organizations, and government) in open and solution focused discussion around services for survivors Develops key relationships with helping agencies and volunteers that promote collaboration, open mindedness, equitable and fair treatment without judgement. Offers training to key players about how to recognize and respond to sexual assault Uses a trauma informed perspective to offer support to survivors of sexual assault Commits to a social justice and/or feminist approach when working with clients and community Education: Diploma in Human Services or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3 years experience in program coordination/liaising or equivalent combination of education and experience including: Ability to bring diverse community members together to work towards a common goal Proven track record working in a multi-agency, multidisciplinary team Experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds Salary: HSA union Grid 12 (under review) This position requires Union Membership Apply: By email: to caroh@acaws.ca by 4:00 pm April 14, 2022 Only Candidates being considered will be contacted
